Trendline privacy
Last updated: 12 September 2026
The short version. Trendline has no server. Lab reports are read inside the browser on your own computer and are never uploaded anywhere. There are no accounts, no patient database, and no analytics.
What happens to the reports you open
When you drop a PDF into Trendline, your browser reads it on your computer and pulls out the values. Nothing is transmitted. You can prove this yourself: load Trendline, disconnect from the internet, and it still works.
What is stored
Trendline keeps a small amount of information in your browser's local storage on that computer, so your work isn't lost if you close the tab. It never leaves the machine, and clearing your browser data removes it. If you use the Reset button, Trendline clears what it has stored.
What we can see
Nothing. We don't receive patient names, reports, values, or usage information, because there is no server to receive them. If you tell us about a problem, you tell us; we cannot look it up.
Your obligations
Because the reports stay on your computer, keeping them safe is part of your clinic's normal duty of care under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. In practice that means locking the computer, not leaving Trendline open on a shared screen, and not emailing report files around.
What Trendline does not do
Trendline arranges values already printed on your patients' reports, in date order. It does not diagnose, interpret results, flag risk, or recommend tests or treatment. Clinical judgement stays with the doctor.
